Description
In 1943 the US Navy tested the North American P-51D Mustang transfered to them by the United States Army Air Force for testing The Navy re-designated it the EFT-51D. The Navy wanted to see if it was feasible to be used as a carrier based fighter do to it's speed and range. The navy never went forward with the program out of testing. It turned out to be too fast for landing but the navy continued testing them through 1947 with lower powered engines. For fun I envisioned the look of the ETF-51D Mustang as it would look in 1945 assigend to the USS Hornet CV-12 and assigned to VF-17.
